Director of the Ukrainian Startups Fund Pavlo Kartashov together with UNIT.City CEO Dominique Piotet signed a memorandum of partnership.
“UNIT.City has been helping the Fund for a long time and has become a real friend and partner. From the very beginning of our work, we were right here and not a single startup pitch went beyond these walls. We share common interests and values. We are also united by a common goal — to promote the development of the Ukrainian startup ecosystem. That is why, given the urgent need to create the best conditions for its development, taking into account the best world practices, we are pleased to announce the signing of a joint memorandum and the beginning of fruitful cooperation at the official level. We will focus our efforts on strengthening the image of Ukraine as an innovative and technological country and the development of the Ukrainian startup ecosystem,” said Pavlo Kartashov.
The purpose of the memorandum is to establish strategic cooperation between the Ukrainian Startup Fund and UNIT.City, as well as to identify ways of mutual support, including the organization of activities aimed at implementing optimal solutions for the development of startup ecosystems in Ukraine. Participation in joint projects, events, meetings, etc. is provided.
The first practical step in this direction will be the joint organization of NEST Bootcamp in July-October this year. This is a free intensive 3-month course for promising startups, which aims to support them and help create new technology products.
“NEST is our response to the current crisis. This is the answer to the question that bothered us: “What can we do to support startups? How to help them survive and reach a new level? ” NEST is a platform for startups that need financial assistance, an exchange platform, and mentoring right now. And we would not be able to implement it without the help of one of the project partners, the Ukrainian Startup Fund. It funds the most talented Ukrainian startups, provides great support to the community, and has been a resident of UNIT.City for more than a year. We are convinced that thanks to such connections, it is possible to create something real and useful,” commented Dominique Piotet on the details of the cooperation.
The Ukrainian Startup Fund is a state fund launched on the initiative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The mission of the fund is to promote the creation and development of technology startups in the early stages (pre-seed and seed), in order to increase their global competitiveness. The process of selecting startups for grants is competitive: companies are evaluated and selected by a board of independent investment experts.
UNIT.City is the first innovation park in Ukraine, where an ecosystem and infrastructure for business development in the field of high technologies and creative industries are created. The mission of the park is to create an innovative environment and a creative atmosphere for work, life, and creativity in order to develop new technologies and entrepreneurship. The goal is to become one of the largest centers of innovation in Central and Eastern Europe and a point of entry into Ukraine for companies, investors, and partners from around the world.
